Our Mission

Improving the lives of women and children in greater Amasaman, Ghana, by providing their communities with access to clean water and sanitation.

Since March of 2007 when its loan program began  through the spring of 2012 , World Class  provided 716 loans which helped 320 women in greater Amasaman, Ghana. In June of 2012, prompted by the significant increase in capital required for microlenders by the Bank of Ghana, World Class partnered with Lumana, a Seattle-based microlending entity, which took over its loan program.  Now the organization focuses exclusively on small-scale water and sanitation projects in the area.

World Class has drilled 2 wells for the village of Doblo Gonno which previously had no access to clean water apart from a polluted stream some miles away. In 2009 the organization completed construction of a composting latrine for this village which previously had no sanitary facilities. It completed water improvement and conservation measures at the Doblo Gonno Community School in 2010.  In January 2011, the drilling of a new well for Fise's "old town" equipped with electric pump and poly tank reservoir was completed.  A similar project was finished in Shikpontele in the spring of 2012. The next  project will be in Amasaman where a new latrine facility is badly needed.
